Aquarium Design Made in Italy

We design and craft luxury aquariums for private residences, hospitality and exclusive spaces. Every project is unique. Every detail is Italian.

— Our approach

A CaVenza aquarium is not a product. It is an experience.

There is an artisanal intelligence in every CaVenza aquarium: it is born from listening, defined in dialogue and takes shape in the hands of our craftspeople, near Florence.

Whether you want a fully autonomous or completely automated ecosystem, we build it together — starting with you.

— Credentials

Aquariums seen by millions of people

The CaVenza team has designed and built entire departments for two of Italy's largest public aquariums. The same hands, the same care.

Genoa Aquarium

We fully designed and built the The Tropical Garden – A Flutter of Wings department: a complete ecosystem housed within Europe's largest aquarium.

Livorno Aquarium

We built the entire insects, amphibians and reptiles department section and a 4m aquarium dedicated to sea urchins.

Every space has its own version

01

Private residences

Aquariums integrated into the architecture: water walls, glass dividers, floor tanks. The project is born from within, not added on top.

02

Hotels and hospitality

Scenographic installations that become the hotel's identity element. The guest remembers the aquarium: they remember the hotel.

03

Yachts and vessels

Marine aquariums designed for moving environments, with patented anti-slosh systems and materials certified for marine use.

04

Professional offices

Discreet and refined presence for waiting rooms, receptions, representative spaces. The soft fascination of water reduces waiting anxiety.

We install and maintain any biotope.

From tropical reef to Amazonian biotope, from the Mediterranean to cold northern waters: we design and install any aquatic ecosystem. And we care for it over time, with maintenance plans tailored to each biotope.

Beyond limits
— Beyond limits

When water becomes architecture.

We design and build aquariums from 500 to tens of thousands of litres. Every glass panel is calculated using finite element analysis (FEM), guaranteeing certified structural safety.

01

+30,000 L

Custom wall, column or island tanks. No limit on form: glass follows architecture, not the other way around.

02

FEM analysis included

Every panel is mathematically modelled and verified before production. Zero margin of error on structural glass over 15mm.

03

Extra-thick technical glass

Safety float glass and laminated VSG up to 50mm, with seals certified for high hydrostatic pressure.

04

On-site installation

Our team manages every phase: structural survey, custom transport, on-site assembly and biological commissioning of the ecosystem.

"A 40,000-litre aquarium is not simply a larger aquarium. It is an engineering project in its own right, requiring expertise that most builders do not have."

Five architectures for water

Our launch collection: five interpretations of the aquarium cabinet as a design object, crafted by hand in our Barberino di Mugello workshop, near Florence.

CaVenza Steel and Wood — base in legno massiccio su gambe in acciaio curvato
Steel and Wood

Solid wood and curved steel

Elegant furniture with retro appeal: a wooden base with doors and drawers, suspended on curved steel legs. The tension between organic warmth and industrial precision, resolved in a single object.

CaVenza Stone — sistema modulare in acciaio rivestito con lastre di pietra naturale
Stone

Natural stone and steel

Modular system with steel/aluminium structure clad in marble slabs. Monolithic appearance: the cabinet becomes as much a focal point of the space as the water it contains.

CaVenza Stone with Steel Trim — pietra con finiture in acciaio
Stone with Steel Trim

Stone and steel trim

Stone with steel edges and finishes: showcases the volume of water like a stage. Material and minimal presence, adaptable to any interior architecture.

CaVenza Wooden Wands — rivestimento in listelli di legno su volume contemporaneo
Wooden Wands

Wood battens and clean forms

Bold, contemporary forms clad with wooden battens. The contrast between the precise volume and the organic texture creates a visual rhythm that dialogues with moving water.

CaVenza Solid Wood — ante in legno massiccio fresato con piani sfalsati
Solid Wood

Milled solid wood

Combinable modules that create a play of staggered planes: minimal yet rich in the details of the milled solid wood doors. Simplicity as a form of controlled complexity.

— Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know.

How does the process work, from first contact to finished aquarium?

We begin with a consultation — in person or remotely — to understand the space, light, architecture and preferences. We design the aquarium to measure, produce it in our workshop near Florence and install it directly in your space. Average time from consultation to installation is 120 working days, unless special agreements are made.

Are the aquariums complete with filtration, lighting and setup?

Yes. Every CaVenza aquarium is a turnkey system: tank, cabinet, filtration, sump, lighting, scenery and biological ecosystem start-up. We handle everything, with no middlemen.

Do you also provide the fish and organisms for the aquarium?

Yes. Through our biologists we work with selected importers to directly choose the most suitable specimens — for species, size and colouration — for the ecosystem designed for your space.

How do I know if my floor can support the weight of the aquarium?

Average floor load capacity varies between 300 and 500 kg/m². Factors such as building age, aquarium position in the room and weight distribution affect the assessment. For large installations we always recommend a structural check with a trusted engineer. The exact weight of each aquarium is specified in the quote.

Do you offer an ongoing maintenance service?

Yes. Our aquariums can be integrated with advanced remote monitoring systems: chemical parameters, temperature, levels and lighting controllable in real time via app. We also offer monthly or seasonal maintenance plans with on-site visits, technical checks and organism updates.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes. We ship worldwide via couriers specialising in luxury product transport on pallets. The on-site installation service is available on request for any destination.

How can I request a quote?

Via the contact form on this page. Within 48 hours one of our consultants will contact you for an initial briefing and to build a personalised offer together.

How will I be kept informed about production progress?

You will receive real-time email updates at every production milestone. The notification system is managed directly by our workshop team.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer payments, according to the following plan: 30% on order confirmation, 20% on approval of the executive project, 20% 30 days after approval of the technical executive project, 30% on notification of goods ready, 10% on delivery and installation.

Is shipping insured?

Yes, every shipment is always insured for the full value. Those who choose our on-site installation service need not worry about anything: we manage transport, unloading and commissioning. For those receiving goods via courier, it is essential to check the packaging on delivery and, if visible damage exists, add the note "Receipt with reservation for damaged packaging" or refuse the parcel. Complaints must be sent within 48 hours to info@cavenza.com.

Is it possible to visit the workshop?

Yes, visits to our artisan workshop are possible by appointment. The workshop is located in Barberino di Mugello, near Florence.
